How to use this kit

I understand that you may be time-poor, so I have tried to layout this course in a way that you can access what you need quickly and easily and equally find it easy to pick it up and come back to time and time again.

This kit has been divided into three sections.

Reflect

Begin to unpack what is contributing to your burnout

Rebalance

Identify what you need to free up some mental space, decrease stress and restore your energy.

Reignite

Create an action plan to bounce back and future-proof yourself against burnout.

While you can do them in any order, these sections build on each other to guide you through looking over your situation and contributors to burnout in a broad and wide-ranging way. To give yourself the best opportunity to create an action plan to bring yourself back from burnout and prevent it in the first place, I encourage you to spend the time looking deeply into the ingredients you will need to formulate it. These will present themselves to you through the reflection and rebalance sections.

Take your time

As Pharmacist, I know we’re used to working in timebound situations but this is not one of them. Take your time rumbling with this. Pick it up, put it down, roll around it with it over a cup of your favourite whatever when you have some quiet time. If you don’t have some quiet time, create some. Not only do you deserve it, but you also need it. A spoiler alert from the rebalance section, coming back from burnout is not just about addressing work triggers, it’s about nurturing your whole self through sustainable practices such as scheduling time out. If that little voice in your head is still saying, ‘but I have kids or family at home, I have so much to do at work, if I stop to create some quiet time it will only compound my problems…’ I want you to right now, STOP and answer this question…

What will it cost YOU if you don’t schedule some quiet time? What is the cost today, tomorrow, next week and five years down the track?

The cost could be many things, emotional, physical, mental, financial or the cost might be you stay right where you are in your same habits… if nothing changes, nothing changes…

I want you to reset and reignite… I want to see you here, in our profession for the long run. And even you decide not to stay, I want you happy and healthy because that’s how we can all lead ourselves and our communities to better lives and workplaces. Power through the collective all the way.
